Abstract

The monograph is devoted to solving an important scientific and technical problem related to the creation of steam turbine rotors for their replacement and modernization in exhausted turbine units of thermal power plants and nuclear power plants.

The implementation of established task is based on a complex of scientific developments aimed at optimizing the flow part of axial turbines, in particular, steam turbine rotor elements — working blades, as well as on a complex of scientific and technical developments that ensure the dynamics and strength of the rotors.

Special attention is paid to the creation of welded rotors of the low-pressure cylinders, their advantages over other types of rotors are shown. Based on the experience of designing, manufacturing and operating rotors of various types, the decision to use a welded rotor of different materials in the combined cylinder of medium and low pressure turbines of the new generation K-325-23.5 has been substantiated.

A significant place in solving the problem is occupied by materials on the development of a method for predicting the safety of thermal power plants or nuclear power while a hypothetical destruction of a welded turbine rotor, and in this regard methods of increasing the structural strength of the weld root of the welded rotor assemblies are proposed.

On the basis of the latest scientific and design developments, the authors have created and mastered the production and operation of new generation welded turbine rotors K-325-23.5, K-310-23.5, K-320-23.5 for thermal power plants and in turbines with a capacity of 100... 1100 MW for nuclear power plant.

The monograph can be useful for scientific and technical workers of energy-related organizations, operating personnel of TPPs, CHPs and NPPs, graduate students and students of energy specialties.
